這首歌是披頭四的冠軍曲，又有孫燕姿翻唱過，名氣當然響叮噹..不過，忽然心血來潮去找這首的創作原由，才知道原來還真的有一段故事，而且是跟John Lennon 外遇有關係係...
1968年John Lennon與他的外遇對象Yoko Ono(大野洋子)正要開始同居，要與妻子Cynthia Powell離婚，當時Julian(John的兒子)約8歲左右，Paul McCartney很關心他，就寫了"Hey Jude"來勉勵 Julian，請他接受事實, 努力面對壓力，不料竟變成了超級暢銷曲...XD
其實，說是給Julian，也可以說是給Paul自己。因為歌詞裡有一段Remember to let her into your heart, Then you can start to make it better. Paul強迫自己要去接受Yoko(聽說當時除了John之外，每個團員都不喜歡她)，不過Paul還是做不到，最後更間接造成與John的決裂，The Beatles亦於1970年解散;John Lennon與Yoko Ono組成Plastic Ono Band。
Paul McCartney 曾表示 「我知道如果我不接受她, 很蠢, 但我還是做不到。」
John Lennon最後與Cynthia離婚，還表示他已經歷了兩次離婚；一次與Cynthia，一次與Paul。畢竟，他們曾是最要好的寫歌搭檔，Beatles以後，他們已沒有一起寫過一首歌了。
這首歌除了這個故事外，因為Jude這個字在德國指的是猶太人，所以還讓人有許多的政治聯想。此外，聽說這首歌在2:56 至 2:58之間時，John Lennon竟然喊了一句髒話Oh~ Fucking hell!因為他在唱合音時，把"let her under your skin"，唱成"let her into your skin"。據說，音效工程師Ken Scott被告知這個錯誤之後，說，他原本沒發現這個荒腔走板的雜音，但是知道真相以後，怎麼聽，都無法忽略這句髒話。我廳了ㄧ下，雖然沒聽出什麼，但是會感覺有一點雜音...Orz
